Chain Link Fencing

Durable Chain Link Fencing for Oklahoma Homes and Businesses

Cost-effective, low-maintenance, and built to last. Legacy Fence installs chain link fencing with the same quality standards we apply to every project — proper post depth, quality materials, and workmanship you can count on.

Chain Link Done Right — Not Just Done Fast

Chain link is one of the most practical fencing options available — but only when it's installed correctly. Poorly set posts, undersized materials, and rushed installation lead to sagging, leaning, and premature failure. Legacy Fence brings the same quality standards to chain link that we bring to every fence type.

Chain Link That Stays Tight and Straight

Chain link fencing is one of the most practical and cost-effective options for securing large areas, containing pets, or defining property boundaries. When installed correctly, it’s one of the most durable fence types available — lasting decades with minimal maintenance.

The most common chain link failures are caused by undersized posts, insufficient post depth, improper tensioning, and using a lighter gauge fabric that bends too easily. Legacy Fence uses properly sized posts set at the correct depth for Oklahoma’s soil conditions, along with heavier gauge chain link, and our crews are trained to tension the fabric correctly — ensuring a fence that stays tight and straight over time.

It’s common to see chain link fences bent in from dogs, kids climbing on them, or even lawn equipment pushing against them. We avoid that issue by using thicker gauge chain link that holds its shape and stands up to everyday use.

We offer galvanized and vinyl-coated chain link in various heights and gauges for both residential and commercial applications. All installations include gates and access points as needed.

Common Questions

Chain Link FAQ

How long does chain link fencing last?

A properly installed galvanized chain link fence can last 20–30 years or more with minimal maintenance. Vinyl-coated chain link may last even longer due to additional corrosion protection. The key is proper installation — especially post depth and tensioning.

What's the difference between galvanized and vinyl-coated chain link?

Galvanized chain link has a zinc coating that resists rust and corrosion. Vinyl-coated chain link adds a PVC coating over the galvanized wire, providing additional weather resistance and a more finished appearance. Vinyl-coated is available in black, green, and other colors.

Can I add privacy slats to chain link?

It depends. If privacy slats may be added at any point, we need to know ahead of time so the fence can be built accordingly. The posts and top rail must be sized correctly to handle the added wind load — standard chain link framing is not designed for privacy slats. When planned properly, slats can be added later, but it needs to be built for from the start.

How much does chain link fencing cost?

Chain link is generally one of the most cost-effective fencing options. Pricing varies based on height, gauge, coating type, and linear footage. For reference, a standard 4’ tall galvanized chain link fence typically starts around $18 per linear foot installed, while vinyl-coated options start around $22 per linear foot. Final pricing will vary based on layout, gates, and site conditions. Contact us for a free, accurate estimate for your specific project.
